Red Bull CEO Christian Horner spoke about how the racing team`s budget is now formed.


According to Horner, since the introduction of budget caps in F1, the Red Bull racing division has little or no need for additional funding from parent company Red Bull.


Obviously, a significant part of the budget comes from revenues from Formula 1. Red Bull probably has the widest portfolio of sponsors and partners in F1-we have over fifty. This helps reduce the investment of Red Bull`s parent company to potentially less than 10 percent of the annual budget.


The main costs are borne by the Red Bull racing company, while the creation of the newly formed Red Bull engine division required significant investment.


In an ideal scenario, parent company Red Bull would not need to contribute funds to the budget at all. The goal is to reach the threshold of self-sufficiency, and possibly even profit, " Horner said.
