Boston point guard Marcus Smart was sent off the court late in the third quarter of a 117-150 loss to Oklahoma.


With 2:46 left in the quarter, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla replaced Smart. Leaving the court, the player expressed dissatisfaction with the referee about the last episode. The referee gave Smart a second technical and sent him off for the rest of the match.


Smart reacted violently to the sending off and lunged at the referee. Mazzulla managed to grab the player in time and prevent him from getting closer to the referee. Assistant coaches then helped lead Smart to the locker room.
