Two of Liverpool`s main players - goalkeeper Alison and central defender Joel Matip, have today resumed training at full speed with the team and are likely to be ready for the derby with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Brazilian has not played since the first championship match of the season in August when he suffered a calf injury. This caused Adrian to be the title holder in all subsequent games in the summer.

Matip missed the last two wins on the team - against Red Bull Salzburg and Leicester because of an injury he suffered at a meeting with Sheffield United at the end of last month.
