Ex-Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo said he was in talks with Real Madrid in 2006.


We had just won the World Cup and I didn`t know what was going to happen [in light of the corruption scandal in Italian football]. I was very, very close to Real Madrid but found out that Milan would be able to qualify for the Champions League and stay in Serie A.
