Former world number one Mats Wilander commented on Holger Rune`s words that next year he wants to become number 1 in the world.


Rune said he would be 1 in the world and that could lead to disappointment if he didn`t succeed right away.


Imagine if Casper Ruud had said that last year. He`s had three big finals this year, but people would say, well, he`s just incapable of winning a big title.


So my first reaction is to say it was wrong and dangerous, but if it motivates, then go ahead. . .


Holger probably needs to clean up his body language a bit on the court. And he will do it, because he is only 19 years old, and he is an incredibly fast learner. I think it will help his tennis if he slows down a bit and shows less of both negative and positive.
