Mercedes chief executive Toto Wolff is confident that the relatively unsuccessful 2022 season will benefit the team in the future.


After the success of the past ten years, Mercedes finished third in the Constructors` Championship last season and won just one race in the entire championship.


The parameters have changed. Of course, we are discussing the situation. We analyze the data, trying to find the reasons why in the past, after the era of dominance, the speed of the team suddenly dropped noticeably.


And it is quite possible to track the path to the initial cause - whether it is a change in technical regulations, the departure of key people from the team, or a fundamental change in tires.


Our organization has remained the same, we have the same opportunities, the same financial resources. So we all understand. The technical regulation has changed. We have misinterpreted it. But all other components are still in place.


We need to set up the system and sort things out. I am one hundred percent sure that we even needed such a difficult season - to recharge, to find new motivation.

And this season brought us down to earth, made us appreciate the feeling of victory again - as it was in Brazil. And also to understand how difficult it is to actually recoup, to try to return to the usual positions, - Wolff said.
